NIU World Music Concert is coming...

The World Music Concert this year is going to ROCK big time! We've got guest artists flying in from Turkey, Mexico, and other parts of the U.S. Professional musicians who played with well-known groups such as Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and Yo-Yo Ma's silk rock project will also appear on the stage. In addition, our NIU talented students will be featured in solo and ensemble setting. The cultures to be presented at the concert include: the Middle Eastern classical, folk, and contemporary music, Chinese orchestra music, Indian tabla, Vietnamese dan-bau solo (monochord), Indonesian gamelan music, Irish, Pre-Columbian percussion music, and Northeastern Thai folk dance. The concert takes place at the NIU Boutell Memorial Concert Hall on April 11 (Sunday) at 3:00pm. This event is open to the public. Children of all ages are welcome. Please contact Dr. Jui-Ching Wang (jcwang@niu.edu) for more information.

Look forward to seeing you then!
