Overall, I thought that I taught the song well and did all the steps properly. However, my enthusiasm, posture, and ability to keep interest was lacking. I would give myself 4 out of 5 points for musicianship, because I think I was in tune with accurate rhythm, appropriate tempo, and good phrasing. However, my expression seemed nervous and shy. I also leaned on the table, which is bad leadership because the students will follow my poor behavior. I would give myself 7 out of 10 points in the leadership category. I think I had a decent facial expression, good voice tone and volume, and made good eye contact. However, I could have been more involved with the kids instead of just staring at them. I would give myself 15 out of 15 for preparation. I was scheduled to go first and I was completely ready and had a good knowledge of my lesson plan. I would give myself 15 out of 20 in the final category, delivery of instruction, because I knew my steps well, gave good verbal instructions, questioned the students when needed, focused on the lesson plan, kept the lesson at a good pace and made sure the students understood before going on to the next step. I would mark off because my motivation was lacking and I did not capture attention well. I had no opportunity to demonstrate flexibility. I did give the students feedback, but it was only "good job" and "give yourselfs a hand" but I could have said names and been more specific about what I thought they did well. I believe I had a good closing and I asked appropriate questions that followed up on some basic ideas I wanted to cover.

I think that Julie did a great job teaching her song to the class. I would give her a 5 in musicianship because she did a good job with her phrasing and expression. Her leadership was also strong, but her posture and body language was not as strong as it needed to be. If she was not slouching on the table, she would have done better. I would give her a 8 in this section. Julie had great preparation. She deserves a 15 in this category. Her strongest point was letting the students be creative and coming up with new ways to keep the beat. Her delivery was also very good. However, her pace of the lesson was very slow and repetitive. I think that students might get a little bored with this being so reptitive, so I would give her a 19 in delivery. Her overall score would be a 47 out of 50 because she did well with her strong points, but she was weaker in some areas.

Julie did very nice for the first time teaching a lesson to a set of her peers. There is some things that she did that were very good but others things which she will have to work on so that when she is teaching in front of a classroom full of kids things run smoothly. In the first section which is musicianship I would give her a 5 out of 5. She did a very nice job staying in tune and having the accurate pitch. She also was able to keep the class today with the steady beat but at the same time keeping the rhythm of the song. For the next section which was leadership I would give her a 8 out of 10. She had good body language and she had great facial expression. One thing that she needed to work on is making sure she is standing the whole time during the presentation. In the next section which is preparation I would give her 15 out of 15. She had everything that she needed, was ready and knew the song that she was singing. On the last section I would give her a 18 out of 20. She went in order of the steps which made a lot of sense. She was able to get the feedback from the students to check if they were getting what she was having them do. One thing that she could have worked on is giving instructions that are clearer because when they first started singing the song many students were clapping off beat due to the fact that they were unclear of what they should be doing. Overall, everything was very nice and well put together with a little change next time will be even better. The end total that I would give her is 46 out of 50.
