Connie I just want to say Congratulations, you did a very nice job. This project, I felt, was nerve racking and I found it difficult to present in front of the classroom, nice job handling yourself.

Ok, here goes the critique part.

For musicianship I would give you a 4. You really have a pretty singing voice; don't be afraid to sing out. You did well keeping with the pitches and phrasing. Next time I would try to make sure you keep the same tempo, aka the steady beat. When you started the class with the steady beat it seemed like you slowed down or got away from the tempo you started with. Next time just keep in your head the steady beat you want. But otherwise nice job, it was neat to see the instruments used to keep steady beat. Students would love that part.

For leadership I would rate you at a 8(1/2). You had cute expressions, seemed pretty comfortable in front of the class. Something I noticed, that I as well did in my presentation, was hand fidgeting. It’s probably a nervous thing, but when you watch someone moving their hands in little gestures it is distracting from what you were saying. My advice would be to try and use hand motions for purpose. This will be hard but I think it would help you take that extra charge. You seemed to have a good volume and voice tone while keeping eye contact with all your students.

For preparation I would give you a 14. It seemed like you were well prepared. You knew your song well and you didn't keep your lesson plan sheet with you. Not having your sheet made you look like you had it what you wanted to accomplish all down.

Delivery of Instruction I would give you an 18. You did a nice job getting the class to move with the song and sing. Sometimes it was a little hard to follow what you wanted the class to do. Next time just make sure you explain what you want the students to do a bit more. It could be too that you were nervous and forgot things to say, which I totally understand. For this category just make sure you have a good sequence of steps and your lesson flows.

My last comments would be I didn't really know what non musical concept you were trying to teach. Maybe next time you could try and make that more clear. Besides that excellent job. You seemed comfortable in front of the class especially since you could admit your mistakes and move forward looking confident. Congratulations, presentation number 1 is over!

Muscianship 4- Overall you sang the song very well but there a few times thut that at i seemed out of pitch but that also could be nerves because it always shows in someones voice
Leadership 9- you kept very good eye contact witht he class but the only thing you should try to fix is not playing with your hands as much. but if you were nervous i really couldnt tell
Preperation 15- you knew your lesson plan very well and it was obvious that you practiced before you presented it before the class
Delivery of Instruction 19- your lesson plan flowed really well but next time try adding a little bit more explanation becasue sometimes children need that to help them understand
