1. When evaluating my performance, for the first section I give myself the full five points. I think my pitch and rhythm were accurate. In the second area I would give myself a nine because I think I did a good job of giving all of the students’ direct eye contact and showing interest and emotion while teaching the song but I think I could have spoken a little louder. In the third section I would give myself a 13 because I did have my lesson memorized and had a fairly good knowledge of my music however I noticed times when I myself forgot some words and had to recall them due to my nerves. In the last section I would give myself a 19 because I noticed it was hard for my students to remember all of the words the first time we tried to sing it all the way through so I think I should have spent a little more time with them on all of the lines so they would remember. I think I had great flexibility and a good closure. So I give myself a total score of 46 points.
2. Overall, I think I did a fairly well job delivering my lesson plan despite some nerves.
A.) The things I think I did best were giving each of the students eye contact while teaching to check that they were paying attention and following the lesson, also so they felt they were all equally important and mattered. I think I also did a good job of breaking the lesson up and teaching things in a progression along with explaining the motions and how they related to the song. I took the time after each progression in the lesson to ask the students were they understanding and how they felt about moving on. I had great patience and a positive and happy attitude that I displayed throughout my lesson. To prepare for these kinds of things I went over the lesson a few times to make sure the lesson made a clear progression and made sense. I have a large family with many children so I am used to the patience and attention they need.
B.) I think one area that didn’t go as well as I wanted it to were my nerves. I could tell at times I got nervous and it caused me to stumble over my words or forget lines from the song for a small moment. I also noticed that the number of lines and amount of words in the song in total made it hard for the students to learn and remember them in a short amount of time. The first time I had them sing the whole song with me many of them did not remember words. I probably should have done the song line by line twice, or shortened the song to one verse.
C.) What I would do differently with this lesson plan would be to possibly break the song up into the two verses and teach them both individually then bring them together and sing the whole song at the end so the students could remember the words easier. I would also practice it more in front of a large group to get more comfortable with it and ease my nerves.

I thought she did a really good job. This was an interesting lesson, and the first time i hurd this song. New Home song sounded like Twinkle Twinkle song. She knew the rhythm and did a good job with the pitchs. She could of had the kids go over the song a few more times slowly, because the students didnt know all the words that were in the song. She could of gone over the movements with the students again, they looked very confused. I was able to hear her and she was very confident in herself. Ariella did a great job and will continue to be a good job, she will be even better if she takes the time to go over the material slower and will allow the students time to review the information longer.
