This was a very boring lesson. She didn't put any emotion or bring any fun into the lesson which would lose the kids attention. 75% of the class was spent with her back to the class while writing on the board while the students are just sitting there doing nothing. There wasn't much energy in the lesson either. She did come prepared because she knew the song and understood what structure her lesson would be in. The closing activity was kinda confusing because it didn't go over much except what lines were the same.

Musicianship (3): My pitch was all over the place. The rhythm was off at places in the beginning, but as the lesson plan went on I improved on getting the rhythm to where it should be.

Leadership (5): I seemed to be a little quiet at points in my lesson plan. I used a lot of eye contact. I did not have a lot of intensity in my lesson.

Preparation (14): I practiced the lesson plan so that I knew what I was going to say and do when I actually presented it to the class. I knew the flow of my lesson plan. I memorized the music and the rhythm of the song.

Delivery of Instruction (12): I gave them instructions on what I wanted to be done, but a couple were not clear when I said it and I changed the wording of the instruction. I was flexible by realizing that it took more time than I expected for them to tell me the rhythm of the song and I adjusted my plan accordingly. I gave feedback to the students by saying good job.

Total: 34/50

A) I did really well at explain the dotted quarter and dotted half notes. I prepared for this by really practicing explaining it so that they would understand what I was saying. I knew the values of the notes so that when they told me the rhythm, I could correct because I knew what went where in the song.
B) The clapping of the rhythm did not go so well because I think I got a little ahead of the class. The rhythm was hard and it made it harder to clap the rhythm all together at the same pace because each person counts at different paces.
C) If I could do it again, I probably would not do the clapping the rhythm again. I most likely would only teach them the first part of the song and leave the second part out, if I represented my lesson.
