I think Lori did a pretty good job. The areas where she could improve would be showing more excitement and interest in the lesson to keep the students attention and make them want to learn the song. Also during the lesson she had her lesson plan with her to read from and I suggest trying to memorize it. I also think she should have broken the lesson down a little more and went through all of the lines so the students wouldn’t get confused on what to say at the end. But, I liked how at the end she had them re-do the last line one more time since they were confused on it. Overall I think she did well for a first lesson plan!

1. During the evaluation I realized that my rhythm and pitch were very accurate. I would give myself a 4. My leadership would get around a 6, my eye contact was good and i did look at everyone. Some things like my energy could have been higher and I could have made my lesson clearer. I knew the song, the last phase I checked just to make sure I had it right.
A) The things I did best in this lesson plan were I picked an entertaining song to keep the children entertained in the lesson. I also had the children review where we messed up, and count a few times to show me that they knew how to count down to zero. I knew the song already for the most part which helped out and I knew that if you mess up you just have to keep going.
B) I didn’t do too well when it came to the difference between the eighth notes and the quarter notes. I also messed up on the song a few times, and rushed a lot. I could have practiced the song more, I sort of left that for last because I knew the song already. I didn’t quite understand how I was going to teach the difference between the two notes either and it would of helped if I had a clearer idea as to how I was going to do that.
C) If I was able to redo this lesson, I would have put more time into the lesson itself and wrote down more detail as to how I would teach this lesson. I would have also practiced it more so it ran more smoothly and I wouldn’t have changed ideas halfway through the lesson. I would have spoke slower and not of rushed as much as I did, overall I think I should have practiced more. This was a fun experience and I would defiantly like another try at it.
