I think that Illiana did very well with her lesson plan and presentation. Her tone of voice was loud and confident and she was very enthusiastic with her class. She spoke clearly and kept the attention of the class. I liked how she added motions to her song, like patting her stomach, and holding up the numbers of frogs. I also liked how she added in the clapping on the "yum, yum" at the end of each verse. She was very encouraging to the class, saying "good job" when they understood the song. I like how Illiana seemed excited to be teaching the lesson, so that the students were more encouraged to be involved with the lesson. The more teachers seem excited about things, the students will be asl well. Illiana did a great job of that. Her song was catchy, and the students seemed to enjoy it. I liked how the song had repitition in it, which makes it easy for students to pick up on the words and the song in general, especially for first graders. At the end, I liked how she reviewed on counting down from 5 frogs, which ties in a little bit of a math lesson! One thing that Illiana might want to add to her lesson would be writing on the board, so the students can visually see the song as well.

I think I was in tune and I had an accurate pitch. I flowed with the appropriate rhythm and tempo. I would give myself 5 out 5 in this section. I believe I showed some energy and authority. I showed body language by having them count down and adding minor motions along with the song. I made sure to look at my students while I was presenting. I could have added some more motions while singing the song to my students instead of just rocking back and forth. I would give myself 9 out of 10. I memorized the song fairly well. I believe I was well prepared for the lesson. I think my expectations were meet. I demonstrated the lesson with knowledge. I would give myself 15 out of 15. I presented this lesson in a slow pace so my first graders would understand. I maintained my energy through out the lesson but I could have done something different to grab my student’s attention while singing the song multiple times. I asked the students a few questions in the end which was my assessment. I would give myself 19 out of 20. I memorized the song by singing it to myself. I also practiced it to my boyfriend a few times. The song was five green and speckled frogs but the students kept saying five little speckled frogs. I could have elaborated on that a “little” more. I also think I should have sat down with the students instead of standing. If I were given another chance I would probably pick a shorter song because the song I choose was quite long. In the beginning of the lesson I sung the entire song to my students while they just listened. I could have had them pat to the steady beat or have a minor activity for them to do meanwhile. Overall I would give myself a 48/50.

This was an awesome lesson plan, it was interactive and fundamental for children of the appropriate age range. Her energy level played a very essential role in the productivity of the lesson, it made the students more acceptable of the song and enourage them to be involved. The motions that went along with the song, were perfect for this particular age range. Her delievery of instruction was good; if she was neverous it was not obvious and appeared excited and calm. Her confidence in her lesson plan allowed for the children to keep their attention on her, she was well versed with the key points she wanted to go over. The incorporation of the math was good as an extra lesson, along with the actual music. The only concern I really have is working on being natural, it appeared as though she was kind of acting. Nevertheless, it was affective and she did a great job

Musicianship- 5/5
Leadership- 10/10
Preparation- 15/15
delievery of instruction 18/20
total 48/50

I like your energy level. It's really high throughout the lesson. Good for you! It's also nice that you gave very clear instruction step to step. Overall, this is nicely done. I can tell from your presentation that you were well prepared in memroizing the words, motions, and instructional steps!
One thing you should pay attention is that while you're singing, you want to keep your children engaged, especially when you have to sing a song that has so many verses... children will get bored when they have to sit still listening to you singing for that long. So, you can keep them busy by simply asking them to keep the steady beat, i.e., tapping their thighs, clapping their own hands, clapping their partner's hands, etc. No matter what, just make sure that they have "something" on hand to do while you demonstrate something. Also, in singing the song, you were off tune for sometimes...so make sure you learn the song well. The best way is to sing along with audio example. Also, it'll be nice if you can motivate the students to sing in a more energetic voices. During your lesson, it seems to me that the students were not quite excited about the song (their voices sounded like they were falliing asleep). As a teacher, you should be aware of this and fix it right away... tell them that you want them to sing louder and energetic and make sure you get what you want before you let things go.
